Homecoming's Coming
Fall will be full: There's rejuvenated football and, on October 17-19, Homecoming. Alumni and students will mingle and move to the sights and sounds of the popular President's Homecoming Dance and get together for affinity group events (SAEs, Asian alumni, Native-American alumni, DUMB, physical therapists, and EMS alumni). Duke University Black Alumni Connection (DUBAC) is having its biennial reunion, which coincides with the Mary Lou Williams Center's 25th anniversary celebration. Plus, it's Half Century Club Weekend, and the A.B. Duke Memorial Scholarship program is celebrating its 60th anniversary. For details, please visit www.dukealumni.com/Homecoming.

A Year of Bloomsbury
A century ago, a group of writers and artists, radicals of their day, began to influence literature, aesthetics, criticism, economics--and modern attitudes towards sexuality. Duke is celebrating the Bloomsbury Group with interdisciplinary programs and events from September through April, including a special exhibition at the Nasher Museum, beginning December 18. On February 27-28, Duke in Depth, the DAA's alumni weekend program, will present "Bloomsbury: Vision & Design." To sign up for more information, and to see the yearlong schedule of campus events, visit www.bloomsburyatduke.com.

Tailgaters
Where there's football, you'll find fans, food, and revelry. On September 13, when Duke plays Navy, the DAA is sponsoring a pregame tailgate at 10 a.m. on the Krzyzewskiville Quad before the noon gridiron skirmish. There will be Bullock's barbecue, all the fixings, and the best beverages. To register, go to www.dukealumni.com/navy. To buy individual game tickets, call the ticket office at (877) 375-DUKE for a special group rate related to this tailgater. Game tickets will not be mailed, but can be picked up 15 minutes before kickoff at the call window.

Blue Devils Sports on the Road
We're celebrating the Blue Devils at away games with pregame events. On October 25, Duke challenges Vanderbilt on the gridiron in Nashville, and there's a tailgate before the game with pulled pork and Southern fare. For tickets and to register for the Vanderbilt event, click www.dukealumni.com/vanderbilt. On December 20, the Duke men's basketball team takes on Xavier in the Meadowlands. For tickets to the pregame brunch and the Xavier game, click www.dukealumni.com/xavier. Act now before tickets go on sale to the public.
